In a field that is full of suffering, we attempt to do our best to manage the ongoing toll that is taken on us and our lives as we help others. Shifting back to living life in a way that mitigates the ongoing exposure is not easy; this presentation offers a perspective and framework for how to do just that. Objectives: Discuss the difference between primary and secondary trauma; Identify ways that these impact this field specifically; Discuss ways to manage the impact.
Target audience: law enforcement, medical professionals, advocates, prosecutors, etc
